The Web Staff wishes to apologize to the director
and screenwriters of the 1951 Hollywood film "The Tanks
Are Coming," which was an abridged chronicle of the 3AD
in WWII. In a posted movie review, we chastised the movie's "ridiculous
portrayal of romance in time of war." Well, that was before
we received a photo scrapbook from the family of T/5 Clifford
R. Evans, Co D, 83rd Recon Bn. Several pictures in that collection
showed Evans (in above right photo) and an unidentified Spearhead
buddy (left photo) involved in romantic encounters with Belgium
damsels in September, 1944, on the road to Germany. |
