MIDDLE PHOTO: A 3/36 Inf M-113 begins a "swim" at Compo Pond in Hanau in 1965, with others to follow. Later that day, the same M-113's went to the Main River near Aschaffenburg and alternated swims between barge traffic.

BOTTOM PHOTO: A wide view of the Hohenfels barracks in the summer of 1965. On that occasion, however, the 3/36 Inf camped out in the woods, as the German Army was occupying the barracks.
