1965: Tank Lineup at Ayers Kaserne

In March, 1965, at Ayers Kaserne in Kirchgoens,
the 3AD's 1st Brigade assembled twenty M60 tanks as a display
for incoming Division Commander, Maj. Gen. Walter Kerwin, Jr.
The pathway between the perfectly aligned tanks made an impressive
drive-through for the General's jeep. The units involved are
believed to be the 2/33, 3/33, and 2/32 Armor. |
