Retiring in 1995 with nearly 30 years of active and reserve
duty, Findley Brewster's service with the Army continues today
in his volunteer role as Army Reserve Ambassador, which is officially
recognized as carrying the protocol rank of 2-star General. He
is active with reunions and other functions of the Texas-based
90th Infantry Division, having served as its Association's President
in 2000-2001. In WWII the 90th Infantry fought close to the 3rd
Armored Division in France in action at Mortain and the Falaise
Gap in August, 1944, and later was part of the relief force to
Bastogne and other points during the Battle of the Bulge.
As Reserve Ambassador, Brewster, who resides in San Antonio,
Texas, was in Europe in April, 2010, working with the U.S. Army
Reserve headquarters located in Germany on a series of public
ceremonies commemorating the 65th Anniversary of V-E Day. Brewster's
role included speeches, the laying of wreaths, and presiding
over Battle Streamer ceremonies held in France at Omaha Beach,
Utah Beach, Pointe du Hoc, and the town of Peirers. While in
Germany, Brewster also took time to visit wounded American soldiers
at Landstuhl Army Hospital.

3rd Armored WWII veteran LTC Olin Brewster
(Ret.) of Texas is introduced as the main speaker at the
dedication of "Lafayette G. Pool" Hall on July 1, 1993,
at Ft. Knox, KY. The introduction is by Col. Henry E. Hodge,
Commander of the 1st Armor Training Brigade, Ft. Knox. The newly
constructed Pool Hall was then the national center for computer-simulation
training for the Army's M1 Abrams tank series. Col. Brewster
served with Sgt. Pool, the legendary tank ace, in Spearhead's
32nd Armor Regiment in WWII and continued that friendship until
Pool died in 1991. For Brewster's speech, in which he talked
of Pool's accomplishments, see the separate video "Pool
Hall Dedication Ceremony" in 3AD.com's WWII video collection.
