3AD Training Photos from the Cold War
-  a Video Slide Show -
Length: 5:03 min.

Presenting photos of the 3rd Armored Division during its time in West Germany from 1956 to 1992. The background music is of the 3rd Armored Band and Soldiers Chorus of 1958 with "The Army Goes Rolling Along," and also the Division Band of 1983 with a rendition of "Grand Old Flag." The 3rd Armored served as NATO's primary "point guard" for the critical Fulda Gap area northeast of Frankfurt/M. These 38 photos show the realism that was involved in training for the Cold War defense of Western Europe.

The soldiers who took the original photos, and who can be identified, were Bud Lee, Michael Fredericks, Vic Damon, Mack Thomas, Wolfgang Scherp, Roland Gautier, Steven Kuhn, and Fred Blas.
