WHAT'S NEW ON THIS SITE
- Postings for the last 12 months -

TIP: When you click on a "Go" link, a new window will open in front of the "What's New" window. After viewing the specific "Go" material, it's best to close the new window and then return to the "What's New" window. This avoids backtracking into pages on other subjects.

MAY 1st
2008
A new policy with this What's New page: We will now be listing our new postings on a quarterly basis instead of month-to-month. Our only addition in April was a revised Home Page with exciting news of Generals Odierno and Chiarelli, and a sample of higher definition video's to come (Cold War Training Photos). BUT much has been happening behind the scenes that will eventually translate into still much more 3AD materials to come on the site, particularly in the area of video's. Stay tuned.

FEB &
MARCH
2008
Postings:
New 3AD YouTube Channel launched as we begin to switch of our growing video collection over to YouTube from Google Video. A lot of re-editing and reformatting is involved, as YouTube has new & higher technical standards. The plan is to have the "Channel" as a "best of" collection only - or the top six video's from each era (WWII, Cold War, Gulf War). The complete collection will still be listed on the 3AD.com "Live Video's" index. Google purchased YouTube in 2007, and, as a result, Google Video will be gradually phasing out for most purposes. (They have already thrown in the towel on customer support and on long-promised technical improvements.)  Go to 3AD YouTube (It's just a start.)

It's not very interesting, except it's THE KING's!  Go

Lastly, the "Overseas Weekly" section on the At Ease Index is a project that we are abandoning. 3AD.com will no longer display articles, graphics, or photos from that controversial and legendary publication. Some basic background on "OW", however, will remain.  Go

APRIL
2007
Postings:
A 15 min. video of 3AD's 1987 CAT gunnery victory is added to the 3AD-Google Video Index, as well as temporarily being embedded on our Home Page. This was an arduous editing and restoration project that left no time for other postings. It is apparently the first and only CAT video (from any year) to appear anywhere on the Internet, and the word is that the 1987 team could not be happier.

A new book, "The Hotton Report," is presented on our home page. Written by the son of a 3AD WWII veteran, it is a fascinating account of 3AD involvement in Battle of the Bulge combat in and around the town of Hotton, Belgium, with details never before told.

Eight 3AD units during WWII have been belatedly added to the unit list, to include the Counter-Intelligence Corps Detachment, POW Interrogation Teams, and others. WWII Section / "Div. Units & War Data."
