First Ever Publication of a Photo
of Rose Helmet Interior

Front of helmet is facing down. The white tape
in the helmet and the painted name of Gen. Rose are original
(as it was at time of his death). Two rounds appeared to have
entered the helmet from the back left side (upper left of photo)
at virtually the same point, then exited out the front right,
leaving two distinct holes. The damage at lower left (splitting
of front rim) remains unaccounted for and could be the result
of a third errant round. (See story text for a detailed analysis
