Bronze plaque is unveiled on birthplace building.
| |
Photo below: Sharing the honors of the unveiling
are Gen. Paul Funk and Deborah Shapiro, the latter representing
The Middlesex County Historical Society and past president thereof.
On the right is the entrance (508 Main St.) leading up to the
2nd floor apartment where Maurice Rose was born. |
| |
Photo above: A serious occasion, yes, but a happy
one too, as is evident by the faces of Gen. Funk and 3rd Armored
Div. vet Dominic Rizzo of Rocky Hill, CT. The latter fought under
Gen. Rose in WWII and has been the long-time national president
of the 3rd Armored's 486th Anti-Aircraft Battalion Association. |
