Knocked-out U.S. Sherman M4A3 Tank
Harz Mountains, Germany

A convoy of 23rd Engineer vehicles pass a destroyed Sherman tank in April, 1945. Although no markings are legible on the tank, it was likely from the 3AD, which was generally covering ground at the time where no other U.S. armor preceded it. This particular M4A3 model had a 75mm gun and a front fitting for a bull-dozer blade (not present).
