In Memory of Richard C. Donnan Hq/33rd AR
From: Jim Donnan
Date: April 19, 2012
Dear Rev. Stitt and Mr. Damon,
First of all, thank you, for the excellent work you have done
through the years to keep the WW2's 3rd Armor Division Association's
newsletter going. You need to know that my dad, Richard C. Donnan,
age 92, of Columbus, OH, passed away on April 2, 2012. Dad was
wounded in Germany on April 15, 1945. He took a head shot which
left him blind in his right eye and deaf in his right ear. Miraculously,
the armor piercing bullet did not hit his brain. After the war,
Dad returned to work at the J C Penney company and retired in
1980 after serving 44 years. Attached is a picture of Dad, along
with the bullet and his Purple Heart.
Sincerely,
Jim Donnan
