The Soviet Military Liaison Mission was created through various
treaty agreements with NATO, the US, and West Germany. Members
of the Soviet Military were permitted certain access to the west
to monitor training activities of the NATO forces. They normally
could be seen in uniform in standard civilian cars bearing the
license plate shown below. |
