A view from a window at the 21st Replacement
Bn facility at Gutleut Kaserne near the Frankfurt railway station,
with a view of the main Gutleut building (background) across
the parking lot. During the 1960's and 1970's virtually all newly
assigned troops to the 3AD came through this location, which
was a USAEUR unit that processed most troop arrivals coming through
Rhein Main Air Base. In 1976 the 21st was moved to the IG Farben
Complex (Abrams Complex), then in 1980 to its new permanent location
at the Air Base itself. |
