- (1) Ft. Dix, 1966, a pond next to billets. Two officers walked
by during this shoot, and shook their heads in disbelief, but
said nothing.

- (2) 1965 VW Beetle. Highest clocked speed on the Autobahn
was 94 mph, even with the handicap of a severe shimmy.

still wearing the WWII helmet, an "elite" regiment
assigned to the border with East Germany in the Kassel area.
The occasion was a Kassel music festival in which the 3rd Armored
